How to survive Christmas and New Year's madness as a stylist... and not go crazy?
For generations, in the pre-Christmas period, women have focused on cleaning the house, shopping, cooking, baking cakes... A few weeks before Christmas, our grandmothers and mothers' lives were turned upside down.
The reality of a modern woman has changed a bit, because the vast majority of us, apart from homework, are also professionally active.
And if we are a stylist... it's really not easy to embrace everything and not go crazy in the pre-Christmas period.
The day I started working as a nail stylist was a dream come true. Contact with people, great passion, constant development, financial security - this profession offers a wide range of possibilities, so how can you not love it?
However, the first Christmas as a nail stylist and a mother and wife at the same time verified my family traditions a bit.
I needed to make changes, create new patterns of action, and discuss household chores with my family. I started testing and experimenting to find the best solutions for me, my family and beloved clients.
Perhaps these 6 methods of organizing life and work will make the costs of pre-Christmas madness minimal for you, and the profits will give you joy and satisfaction.
1. BOOK THE APPOINTMENTS A FEW MONTHS IN ADVANCE
Remind your regular customers two months in advance to book an appointment before Christmas. This greatly simplifies work planning and avoids overloading.
2. MARK YOUR DAYS OFF IN THE CALENDAR
Mark in advance the days off and fixed working hours in the calendar. Try to stick to these boundaries. It is a period of hard work, clients often put pressure on us, and we stay longer out of sympathy. Unfortunately, this is at our and family's expense.
3. REMEMBER, YOU ARE IMPORTANT!
Put it first and foremost on yourself! Your well-being and energy to work are essential. It is worth remembering about this before you plan a 14-hour working day at your desk.
4. FAMILY AT POST
Ask for the support and understanding of family members so that they can relieve you of most household chores during this busy period.
5. SOME CUSTOMERS PREFER TO COME BEFORE NEW YEAR'S EVE
It is worth remembering that you have a few more days after Christmas and before New Year's Eve. Determine if you want to work during this period, because some clients prefer this time for a visit.
6. PRE-CHRISTMAS TIME IS A GOOD MOMENT FOR DEVELOPMENT
This is a cool tip for aspiring stylists. Christmas time is a great opportunity to attract new customers. Clients often look for their place, or because of the lack of free terms, they did not get to their stylist. Be vigilant and maybe spend one year of intense work to gain a group of regular customers for years.
I hope these tips will help you get through this hot pre-Christmas time in your beauty salon.
And the holidays will bring you moments of rest to return to work and your beloved clients with renewed energy.
I wish you a lot of positive energy!
