Durability of gel polish manicure. Why gel polish lifts of? 

Gel polish manicure is for sure the most popular service in nail salons. But sometimes it is a beautician's worst nightmare. Lifting the product from the nail plate is one of the common problems. Is it always a wrong work technique? How can we eliminate our mistakes? 

Bad preparation of nail plate (to "wet" or to "dry" )

One of the most common mistakes is bad nail plate preparation which will cause the product to lift from the nail. Remember! By thoroughly but gently matting of the nail plate, removal of cuticles and effective dehydration with our Clean & Prep will ensure good adhesion of the product. Before starting manicure make sure to look closely at the nail plate as it may show why the product lifts. 

If after matting and dehydration of the nail plate, it's going back to normal (nail plate looks shiny) and after a few days product lifts from the cuticles, that means that nail plate is "wet". In this case you should dehydrate nails a few times with Clean & Prep, which will remove all oils and moisture from the nail plate. 
But if you see lots of white spots and the free edge is rolling inwards that means that nails are "dry". In this case educating the clients how to take care of dry nails. Moisturizing with Elixir SPN cuticle oil every day will make cuticles more soft, and the nail plate well hydrated. Remember that removing gel polish manicure with acetone and removers makes the nail really dry! 

Poor curing of products 

Well cured=strong material. This rule is with every product curable in UV light. Common mistake is finishing curing time too soon, and with lamps with low UV light power. Buying a UV light makes sure that it has right curing power(for gel polishes minimum is 24 W) My ideal lamp is Dual Multi Intelligence Technology, it's perfectly matched power allows for effective and safe curing of gel polishes, building base, and hard gels. High quality finish will guarantee a long lasting use. I have had mine for two years now. 

Wrongly chosen base coat for nails 

Every client have different types of nails, and life style.
This is very important before choosing base coat. Our classic thin base 500 is going to be a great solution for strong and beautify shaped nail plates, but for clients with brittle and soft nails, building bases will be the best choice. When it comes to building bases we have a quite a choice - bestseller Bonder Base 701, ultra strong 755 Build Me! and newest Silky Base. 

We need to remember that each base coat is different and works for different types of nails. 

When after 2-3 weeks we can see that the product lifts from the free edge or in the center of the nail plate, and chipping of the product means that the chosen base was too hard for this type of nails. 

If after a few weeks we see bends on top of the surface of the nail, as the nail and material worked intensively at a point of stress-this may indicate that the product is too soft or its incorrect curing.
